How To Live Well In The Age Of DistractionA Conscious Conversation Panel hosted by reBynd
Last Friday, 5pm, the perfect time to wind down and wrap up the work week. Together with invited guests, we gathered in the serene and gentle space that is Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie — Dempsey Factory. We left our to-do’s, should-do’s and the incessant flurry of activities that goes on in and outside our heads to focus just on one thing: How To Live Well In The Age Of Distraction.
That was the topic of the day for the latest Conscious Conversation panel hosted by reBynd, our eco-conscious lifestyle brand.
Gracing the panel to offer us honest, invaluable and profound insights were a quartet of individuals we admire. What does it mean to each of them to live well? How do they in their own lives as entrepreneurs, parents, role models within their own communities navigate everyday distractions caused by responsibilities, commitments, stress, anxieties, expectations external and self-afflicted, information overload, just to name a few? How have they redefined what makes a fulfilling, meaningful, joyful and successful life in a way that is authentic to them?
Happiness, ultimately, isn’t about what we have and who we are, but the quality of our thoughts. Those two hours last Friday have no doubt given us much to think about: Do we like the life we’ve designed for ourselves? What do we like about it, and what would we change? Where in our professional and home lives can we let go of noise and distractions, and introduce more time and space to reconnect with ourselves, to be more mindful and focused on the things that matter?
From consciously choosing to surrounding ourselves with people who can support us practically and emotionally, to committing to healthier habits like a weekly nature walk, the panellists were incredibly generous with sharing tips and advice that have helped them get back on track whenever distraction knocks.
Our deepest gratitude to the panellists and moderator, as well as our friends and community who came to spend this quality time with us and with themselves. We’re humbled by your love, support and wisdom. Until the next one, take care, and be kind.
