About The Instructor:
A visual artist trained in painting, Cherin Sim graduated from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London where she obtained the Masters of Fine Arts. Incorporating her expertise with her passion for bags, Cherin had the opportunity to provide her designs for various international brands. In 2013, Cherin took up leather craft studies in Scuola del Cuoio, Italy to complement her interest in bag designing. Not only did she gain valuable insights into leather works, her understanding of leather’s characteristics prompted her to experiment her forte of painting on this medium. The results were astounding and she has been practising this art since then. Back in Singapore, Cherin started her own leather craft and painting business which primarily focuses on customised orders. A fun-loving girl by nature, her personality is woven into her passion for Pop art. Influenced by Popular culture, many of her customised works feature icons such as The Simpsons, Star Wars and Hello Kitty, as well as appropriations of Fashion phenomenons and Fine Art combined. Her promising career entered another pinnacle when her works were discovered by luxury lifestyle brand Vianel New York in 2015. She now provides painting services on leather goods from brands across Luxury Fashion Houses and has received overwhelming reception from audiences worldwide.
